"He's still in there", Maya heard Arachne whisper, and she closed her eyes, letting her own tears flow. He hadn't given up his fight with himself and she swore to find him, no matter the price. She sat in his chair, her heart once again pounding. "Why the long face, it worked, didn't it?", Tina asked and to Maya it felt like that was thousands of kilometers away. "His eye", she whispered more to herself, "it's not blue anymore... it's even more gold than before..." She was able to wake him from his trance, but he might be even more gone than before. _______ While this story and the characters are inspired by Fortnite, you as a reader do not need to play the game to understand the story.
