A childhood promise beneath Erebor's golden lamps. A betrayal on the day the sky burned. A loved buried under decades of grief. Aeloria walked away from everything she knew hours before Smaug attacked, carrying the sting of hidden of hidden parentage and a heart broken by those she called father. Gandalf found her later, saved her, and years after asked only one favor: keep a hobbit safe on a vague, dangerous road. She never imagined the road would lead straight back to Thorin. Now, traveling unseen alongside the Company with her star-eyed companions - ghostly guardians glimpsed only as distant blue lights and fleeting shadows - Aeloria watches over Bilbo from afar. The Dwarves whisper of legends come alive, unnerved by eyes in the dark, while Bilbo alone senses the quiet protection wrapped around him. As love and resentment slowly collide across the miles, one truth remains: some lights are meant to burn out saving others. Her family gave shelter to a band of weary travelers. A meal by the fire, a kindness freely given - nothing more. But five years later, Thorin Oakenshield remembers. With Erebor reclaimed and his crown secure, the King Under the Mountain seeks to repay a debt long left unsettled. Yet when he returns to the farmstead, he finds not a warm hearth but ruin - and the woman who once caught his eye standing alone among the ashes of her family's sacrifice. What begins as honor quickly becomes something deeper: laughter breaking through grief, quarrels sparking into kisses, and two stubborn souls learning to fight not against one another, but for each other. As shadows stir once more and Erebor itself calls him home, Thorin must decide if love can be more enduring than stone - and if he dares to claim not just a kingdom, but the heart that has been his all along. A tale of memory, fire, and fate - where debts are paid not in gold, but in love and when love blooms promise is kept.

"So you've fallen in love with a dwarf?" "What?! No!" When Gandalf came to Mirkwood with a quest of reclaiming Erebor, Alithia Thranduillell couldn't resist the thrill of an adventure. Without a word to anyone, not even her overprotective father, she ran away from home to join the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. After all, it was only to help them reclaim Erebor. Little did she know, a certain blond haired dwarf would come into her life and change it. Being the next in line for the throne after his uncle, Fili had a duty. He had to fight by his uncle's side to reclaim Erebor, their home. That was it. The last thing he expected from joining the quest was meeting an elf maiden and falling for her more and more with each passing day. But there was one problem: Thorin hated elves. There was no way in hell that he was going to allow his heir to fall for one. *All characters belong to J.R.R Tolkien. All rights reserved to him. Alithia is the only one I created. (and the horse Maximus but is it really necessary to mention that? Probably not but there it is anyway...) Enjoy the story!!

The epic tale of the company of Thorin Oakenshield has been recounted time and time again, an adventure unlike any other Middle-earth has seen. The story of how thirteen dwarves and a hobbit reclaimed the great kingdom of Erebor is not easily forgotten. The telling you may have heard, however, left some things out, maybe even someone. It would seem that through the many retellings, an elf was deprived of her deserved glory within this tale. This is the story of Laerornien, the daughter of Thranduil, the sister of Legolas, and the forgotten fifteenth member of the company of Thorin Oakenshield. In an attempt to save her people from the wrath of Thrór's dragon sickness, the elven princess sacrificed the heirlooms of her kin, the White Gems of Lasgalen. The consequence was banishment from her own kingdom. Sixty years later, she left her lonely sanctuary in Rivendell as a member of the company with her trust put in their leader, who had promised the return of the gems. The dwarves travelled with a common need to reclaim their home, and those gems would ensure the return of her own. Those who know the story know the grim end, but Laerornien's place in it deserves to be told. Her sacrifice did not end with her surrender of the gems, but with something much greater, and it saved the kingdom of Erebor when the final battle seemed lost. This is not the story you were told, but it may just be the story you were meant to hear. Absolutely beautiful cover made by @paradoxe All the characters and storyline of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings belong to J.R.R. Tolkien. My interpretation and character, Laerornien, belongs to me.
