Joseph King has had an extremely rough year. Several months ago, he suffered a near fatal injury that left him with not only a shattered arm, but a severely broken leg as well. While he has been recovering, the insurance that has been paying for his treatment feels that it could be better, so they send Joe to a clinic run by their company. This clinic is located at St. Jude's General, the hospital in his hometown. Initially, Joe finds the hospital experience normal, but that soon changes as he realizes that both patrons and staff are staring at him when he isn't paying attention. The strangeness is amplified after a particularly unsettling encounter with the clinic's attending physician, Dr. Liam Asher. Frustrated and upset, Joe attempts to get a ride to his parent's house nearby, but the driver pulls Joe out of the vehicle and places him in front of the leering crowd inside. Unable to convince his friends and family that there is something strange going on at the hospital, Joe turns to the internet for help and guidance.
