Avilan was a common dwarf. Or was she? Trained in the art of archery, she has caught the attention of Lord Dain, of the Iron Hills, cousin to Thorin Oakenshield. After a days training with her unknown mentor, she had been summoned before Lord Dain. Thorin had asked his cousin for reinforcements in taking back Erebor. Dain sends the woman in his place. The company wasn't expecting a woman instead of Dain, a true warrior, but she earns her place along the way. Her skills are tested, and her emotions are strained. Meeting new family in Rivendell and fearing the loss of them. But she never expected to find love on this journey. Especially not with a prince. Will they both share the same feelings? Or will he be forced to let her go because of her heritage and family ties? Or will there be another reason as to why they cannot be together?

An unlikely creature forms an alliance with the company of Thorin Oakenshield, she helps them on their quest and forms a bond with one of Thorins nephews. With her ferocity it makes winning battles all that easier.

The Mountain belongs to the Dwarves, but things are not the way Almithara thought they would be. Thorin has changed and not in a good way. Even though the Dwarves may have taken back their home, they're not done fighting for it. Secrets will be revealed and lives will be lost in the final installment of this trilogy. Will her visions help, or be a menace? Would the Dwarves take the help of an Enemy to save their King? And, would she dare to betray them in the end? Last but not least...Is it too late?
