Annabelle met Alexander when she was 5 years old. He gave her flowers, which happened to be dead but hey he was only 5 at the time, making Annabelle fall in love with him. Since Annabelle happens to get what she wants and Alexander is what she wants. So what does she do? She makes her dad bribe Alexander's parents into having him get an arrange marriage. Problem? Annaebelle sees her self as a princess and Alexander is now what most people would call, emo.
