❇️ 2018 WATTYS WINNER! The Originals category ❇️ - "The Breakfast Club" meets "Nancy Drew" in this most unusual YA Mystery. SUMMARY: Five high school students, with little in common other than being descendants of the town founders, are forced to work on a history project together. But when their history project uncovers evidence of a long-buried town secret, the kids must piece together the clues behind their discovery before its legacy comes back to haunt them. ***** Using ACTUAL, archival material (some dating as far back as 1776), The Descendants weaves a tale of mystery and intrigue, constructed entirely from real photographs, documents, and snippets of history from a small, rural town in New Hampshire. What Dan Brown did with conspiracy theories in "The DaVinci Code" and Ransom Riggs did with historical photographs in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," I will attempt to do in "The Descendants," but with teen protagonists and the Cheshire County Historical Society. :-) Why? 'Cause I'm crazy like that! Yeah, I know...History?! Blah! But it actually turned out really fun! :-)

I just have to say, I loved reading it again, it has the best tips one can find (take it from me, I have read many, many guides here). Thank you so much for taking out your time to compile such an amazing book!' Reader testimonial by @suspishfishy-- 'I have to thank you again! As soon as I wrote a book that focused on what I wanted to write, instantly people started to read my books and give me feedback!' **THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO ADVERTISE YOUR STORY. Growing up in a small town and in a family that normalized putting dead animals in the garage freezer, pending future burial, these are stories of childhood shenanigans, humility, resiliency, growth, and really terrible haircuts.

In which my love for graffiti is put to use embellishing bits of poetry, song lyrics, or inspirational quotes. If I find your poetry inspiring and if you're open to it, I might just do a piece based on your beautiful words!

*Shortlisted for Wattys 2018* It all began so innocently, two friends who wanted a real adventure in a world apart from the harsh and mean existence they knew. But every story has... No. That's a fantasy. Every story needs a villain. This is the story of how the greatest villain in modern literature came to be. Of how the most notorious pirate of all time started out as a boy, and then... put away childish things. Pledge: This work of fiction portrays a real culture of people, the Blackfoot or Siksiká. Anglicizing a culture's or character's name, as in the case of the Blackfoot and Tiger Lily, is culturally insensitive, and so in an effort to repair this relationship I pledge 50% of all future earnings of this story to the Siksiká Nation Band No. 430 of Treaty 7, Alberta, Canada.

The Hayes family motto might as well read Stòlda mar a bhí riamh - stubborn as ever. Reunited at last for a wedding and a funeral, it'll be a miracle if they can put up with one another till the weekend. A story of family, of loss and love, and the ties that bind us together. Despite our damned pig-headed stubbornness.

Ely and Jake Anselm aren't exactly brothers. In the near future, when laboratories churn out everything from babies to pancreases at the convenience of those who can afford it, few accidents are without remedy. Still, no world is error-free--which is how Jake ended up with a clone instead of a new kidney. Bound by shared blood and scars, the Anselm boys have cultivated a peculiar habit of sameness that grows strained by their impending high school graduation. Only their best friend Marco Sepúlveda--part emotional support dog, part principal investigator--seems to understand. As his connection to Jake splinters, Ely finds himself drawn to his classmate and onetime hookup, Vera Zhao, though her identity crisis might be even worse than his. For the four of them, determining the future depends on uncoiling the past. Is identity something you're born with, or something you're born to lose?
