What would you do if you suddenly found yourself dressed in futuristic armor in a small room filled with soldiers that look similar to you? You don't know where you are, you can't understand their language and the only saving grace is the fact that the weapons and equipment are the same as an old virtual reality game that you once played so you know how to use them. And when the room turns out to be the interior of a drop ship and you're forced into a war for survival, what would you do? WARNING: This story is inspired by the Halo games, the Earth Defence Force games and the Doom games. Doom games meaning that there will be lots of gore and brutal killing! The cover picture is not mine and is just something that I found on google. Rights go to its owner. The story and all characters associated with it are mine, and with that out of the way, please enjoy reading.

Jerome is at the height of his career as a United Nations Operative, his noble job has his skills placed on the line in low profile deployments all across the highly destabilized regions of the African Continent. As an Operative, he is content with his place as a productive member of the special forces community in a world heading into an uncertain future. Until a mysterious rift appears in the icy wastelands of Antarctica, connecting our world to another beyond it, adding another variable, and perhaps perspective to his carefully crafted way of life.

Exams, no girlfriend, a cantankerous grandfather - George has it tough. And that's even before the assassins come for him, he discovers the magical sword stashed in the attic, and finds out he's responsible for saving a world he didn't even know existed. Talk about pressure. Fantasy and reality collide, as George battles to save his life, his family and - well, pretty much everything - from the forces of evil, while hopefully also addressing the no-girlfriend problem. Unless, that is, he gets killed to death first. Which would at least sort out the exams issue.

[Formerly Featured/Award-Winning Novella/#2 in Horror] There is something eerie about this village -- this hole of silent, maddened people. In 1922 my Papa told me of a faceless entity that lurks amongst us in our isolated slice of Russia. The locals have kept this horror alive for a century, though the only ones who claim to have seen the Folveshch have succumbed to a life of sightless silence. My name is Stefan Alyovich and the people around me are changing. They slip into worsening madness every winter, and I ask myself: how much longer before I'm the only sane one left? ... The only one left alone with the Folveshch. ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟ • 21,000 word novella • Rank #2 in Horror • Rank #4 in Mystery • Horror winner of Greatbelt U.F Award 2015 • CBY October Book of the Month 2014 • The Cryptic Awards Best Horror Winner 2017 • Wattpad HQ Winter Escapes Reading List • Wattpad HQ Stranger Things Reading List • Fright Top Horror/Featured Horror/Stranger Things Reading Lists • Mystery Paranormal Mystery Reading List • ThePurgeMovie Urban Legends Reading List • TheGallowsMovie Best of Thrillers Reading List • Blairwitchmovie Top Horror/Thriller Reading List • OuijaMovie Top Horror Reading List • IncarnateMovie Top Horror ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟-

They say the world used to turn. They say that night would follow day in an endless dance. They say that dawn rose, dusk fell, and we worshiped both sun and stars. That was a long time ago. The dance has died. The world has fallen still. We float through the heavens, one half always in light, one half always in shadow. Like the moth of our forests, one wing white and the other black, we are torn. My people are the fortunate. We live in daylight, blessed in the warmth of the sun. Yet across the line, the others lurk in eternal night, afraid... and alone in the dark. I was born in the light. I was sent into darkness. This is my story.
