Ismérie Chénier was born into a privileged life; her father's family made their fortune as fur traders in Canada and he was made a baron by Napoleon, her mother came from a wealthy but lowly aristocratic family, and she was an only child. However, her life comes to a screeching halt when her family contracts small pox and die leaving her penniless. She found employment as a maid to the Lefevre siblings; a blacksmith and his spinster sister, both generous and cunning. Her future is practically set. She is to marry the blacksmith and live a lower middle class life, a dream come true for girls like her friend Mirielle. But of course, this is not the life she wants. She finds an escape in a group of students led by the passionate Enjolras, a man of great beauty and capable of being terrible. Will Ismérie reclaim her life or will she walk down the aisle with the blacksmith? OC/Enjolras

Evelyn is the daughter of General Lamarque. She lived in France when she was little but then moved to England because her mother wanted her to be educated. By the time she was 21, her mother had been murdered from an intruder. Evelyn was then sent back to her father's house back in France. A lot had changed in France when Evelyn was gone and she couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor. During a street mishap was when she met the revolutionary schoolboys and their leader, Enjolras.
