"Keith?" Shiro looked back to Lance. "That was Keith. Why?" "I-" Lance gulped, and he realized his hands were shaking almost harder than his heart was pounding, lodged in his throat. "I think he's my soulmate." The silence that greeted him only stirred unease in the Cuban man's chest, and he raised his gaze to lock eyes with the older man, who tilted his head cautiously. Another full three beats had passed before he carefully propped himself on his elbows, scrutinizing Lance's panicked expression. "...Lance," Shiro murmured carefully, eyebrows furrowing. "Keith doesn't have a soulmate. He's deaf." [completed]

It was meant to be some sort of experiment. Admittedly, a rather twisted one, but an experiment nonetheless. He had not meant to take it this far, but unfortunately, he did.
