Louis knows about beauty; the combination of qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses. He creates that combination every day in the garments he designs while studying fashion at uni. The cut of the design, the color of the fabric, the intricacy of the stitching; it all comes together to create something beautiful. When the science student with the long legs and dimpled smile agrees to model for him, Louis decides he's found beauty personified. Kursfahrt. Der 18-Jährige Harry Styles ist nicht besonders begeistert von diesem Schulausflug. Er ist froh, dass wenigstens sein bester Freund, Niall Horan, mitfährt, damit er nicht ganz so allein ist. Drei ganze Tage fährt Harry mit seiner halben Stufe in die nächst größere Stadt. Doch die ganze Fahrt kommt anders als erwartet! An jenem Montagmorgen hätte er nicht gedacht, dass diese Kursfahrt sein Leben so drastisch ändern könnte.

Harry Styles war der Traum jedes Mädchens. Er war gut aussehend, hochgewachsen, er hatte diese strahlenden Augen, diese unbeschreiblichen Grübchen und diese lockigen Haare um die ihn angeblich jeder beneidete. Und er war sich seiner Anziehungskraft bewusst, er flirtete was das Zeug hielt und hatte fast jede Woche ein anderes Mädchen an seiner Seite. Louis Tomlinson war das genaue Gegenteil von ihm. Er war ziemlich klein für einen Jungen, seine Haare ließen sich kaum bändigen, er trug eine Brille die seine Augen verdeckte, er war ein Streber und auch noch schüchtern. Keine gute Kombination um an einer Schule voller pubertierender Teenager anerkannt zu werden. Hinzu kommen auch noch seine unerklärlichen Gefühle für Harry, die sein Leben nicht gerade einfacher machen.

Die Räder seines Rollstuhls drehten sich beinahe lautlos auf dem glatten Steinboden, hinterließen feine Streifen und ein leises, quietschendes Geräusch. Manchmal dachte er sich, dass diese Räder wie sein Leben waren, eintönig und scheinbar endlos. Auf der Lehne des Rollstuhls klebte ein viel zu großer, selbst im Dunklem leuchtender Aufkleber. Ich bremse auch für Fußgänger. Seine Mutter meinte, es sei witzig und zeigte, dass er einen guten Humor hatte und wie toll er mit seiner Krankheit umgehen konnte. Doch es passte nicht zu ihm. Humor besaß er nicht, er hatte schon seit Jahren nicht mehr gelacht, und ob er gut mit seiner Krankheit umging? Nein, ganz bestimmt nicht. Er hasste die Schmerzen, seine Unfähigkeit sich zu bewegen und dieses ständige Gefühl auf andere angewiesen zu sein. Er wollte sich nicht immer helfen lassen müssen. Schon gar nicht von Harry, seinem neu eingestelltem, tollpatschigem und viel zu fröhlichem Pfleger. Er hatte zwar vielleicht eine Schwäche für seine Locken, diese stechend grünen Augen und wenn er ganz ehrlich war liebte er die Atmosphäre, die Harry mit sich brachte, doch deshalb musste er sich ja noch lange nicht helfen lassen.
