Kamiyah has spent years helping women feel beautiful in the wedding dresses she designs, but no amount of lace, satin, or hand sewn pearls has ever convinced her that she deserves to feel the same. As the owner of a small bridal boutique in Chicago, she's mastered the art of making every bride shine while quietly hiding from her own reflection. A few storefronts away, Dayvon Bennett owns one of the busiest barbershops in the neighborhood, a place where everybody gathers, laughs, argues, and feels at home. What starts as exchanged glances across the street slowly turns into shared lunches, late night conversations, and a love neither of them saw coming. But as Kamiyah battles years of self doubt and learns to silence the voice telling her she'll never be enough, Dayvon refuses to let her see herself through anyone else's eyes. Sometimes the hardest thing to tailor isn't a wedding dress, it's the courage to believe you're worthy of being loved exactly as you are.

Dayvon kept his head down, pencil moving across the page, but his eyes lifted every few seconds to catch her mouth, her lashes, the soft curve of her cheeks, the way her sleeve tattoo disappeared under her scrub jacket. "You staring hard as hell for somebody drawing," Sage said, trying to sound unbothered while her fingers tightened around her cup. Von looked back down, jaw flexing like he hated being caught. "I need to see what I'm drawing, ma." Sage's face softened before she could stop it, and Von got quiet, thumb rubbing the corner of the old sketchbook like the truth had slipped out too fast. "I was mean as fuck when you first came," he said, eyes still on the paper. "Wasn't really you. I was mad I couldn't move, mad a nigga snaked me, mad you kept looking at me like I wasn't dead yet." Von finally looked up at her, voice lower. "I want you bad, pretty girl. Street nigga way, not that soft movie shit. Like I wanna see you smile and still slap a nigga for playing with you." 08/6/26

Everybody in Chicago knows Dr. Amaris Alvarez. They know the surgeon. The gifted hands. The impossible surgeries. The spotless reputation. They don't know where he goes when the scrubs come off. Amaris has spent years perfecting the separation between the life he chose and the one he inherited. In one, he's trusted to open a man's skull and put him back together. In the other, men twice his age wait for him to speak before they make a move. Two lives. Two different kinds of blood on his hands. And only one rule. Never let them touch. Then Cataleya Reyes walks into his operating room. As one of the newest faces training under Chicago's most respected surgeon, Cataleya knows exactly what she's supposed to do. Watch. Learn. Keep up. Getting close to Dr. Alvarez was never part of the plan. Neither was realizing that the quiet, calculated man behind the surgical mask feels strangely familiar. Months later, an invitation brings Cataleya into a private world she was raised to never speak about. A world of powerful families, old alliances, whispered names, and men who don't introduce themselves because everyone already knows who they are. That's where she sees him. Not Dr. Alvarez. Amaris. And suddenly, Cataleya understands why her brother already knows his name. The man she has spent months standing beside in an operating room isn't trapped in the criminal world surrounding them. He sits at the head of it. Cataleya has secrets of her own. Amaris has an empire built on his. And somewhere between the operating room and the underworld, they make the mistake of becoming the one thing neither of them can afford. Important to each other. Because in Amaris Alvarez's world, people don't come for the king first. They come for what he loves. THE DEVIL WEARS SCRUBS Some men are trained to save lives. Some are raised to take them. Amaris Alvarez was taught to do both. Started: June 24, 2026 Ended:

When a deadly crash on an icy mountain road claims the lives of Giselle and Sai Whiteford, their world stops overnight. Solani Kross-a compassionate social worker who grew up in foster care-and Saint "Spider" Whiteford-a feared kingpin who built an empire from the shadows-are left with the same unimaginable loss. Then the lawyer reveals Sai and Giselle's final wish. They've both been named legal guardians of two-year-old Isabella "Issy" Whiteford. To keep Issy out of foster care, they must sign immediately. To honor her parents' wishes, they must raise her together... in the home Sai bought for his family. Neither of them understands why Sai chose Spider-a man whose name carries fear throughout Pleasant Mount-to raise his daughter. Not even Spider understands it. His brother spent his entire life avoiding the streets, yet somehow believed the man everyone else judged was the one who would protect Issy with everything he had. Grief leaves no room for pride. Now two near-strangers must become roommates, co-parents, and the only constants in a little girl's life as she asks the same heartbreaking question every night: "When are Mommy and Daddy coming home?" As seasons change, bedtime stories replace silence, shared dinners become routine, and a house built for one family slowly becomes home to another. Somewhere between sleepless nights, preschool mornings, therapy appointments, and healing hearts, Solani begins to see the man behind the nickname... and Spider realizes the sunshine he never thought he deserved has been living under the same roof all along. But loving each other is the easy part. Learning to build a family from unimaginable loss-and protecting it from the life Spider thought he'd never escape-may be the hardest thing either of them has ever done.

Aujani Mitchell has never believed motherhood should depend on whether a man chooses to marry her. At twenty-seven, she has built a life she is proud of-a successful career as a pediatric nurse, financial stability, a close family, and enough love to give the child she has always wanted. After months of researching sperm banks and anonymous donors, Aujani realizes she cannot bring herself to choose a stranger. She wants to know her child's medical history, their family, and the kind of man responsible for half of who they will become. There is only one person she trusts that deeply. Her best friend, Cartier Moore. Cartier has been beside Aujani since fifth grade. They have grown up together, shared clothes, secrets, arguments, firsts, heartbreaks, and every version of themselves in between. He is also a devoted father, a successful businessman, and the one man Aujani knows would never abandon his child. But when she asks Cartier to help her have a baby, he makes one thing clear-he is not interested in being a donor. If they create a child together, he will be the daddy. Five months later, an appointment is booked, their plan is in motion, and the friendship that has survived almost everything begins changing in ways neither of them expected. Morning sickness brings Cartier closer. Late-night cravings become routine. Baby names, tiny clothes, doctor appointments, and quiet moments start feeling far more intimate than friendship should. Cartier falls first. Aujani does not realize she is falling until the man she has known nearly her entire life starts looking at her differently-and she begins looking back.
