"You threw me to the rogues, but you never expected me to lead them. You thought they'd eat me, but instead they bow before me." She backs up, seeming to compose herself a little, and I'm still speechless. "Stupid Alpha, did you really think I'd wither away? Did you honestly expect me to just disappear like the rest of your problems?" She starts laughing darkly, making everyone else but Julian step back in fear. She closes her eyes, dropping her hands to her sides. "Stupid Alpha. I'm stronger than you ever were, and even more terrifying." Her eyes open, I gasp in shock at her now glowing red orbs...crimson with a frightening glow. "I'm Alpha of the Rogues, and your apologies mean nothing to me." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scarlett Thomas was just a warrior wolf in her pack of Shadow Mist...that is, until she turned sixteen and found her mate in the Alpha. Everyone should have a code to live by, a set of rules created from life experiences. I have one, and right now, this boy is breaking about three of them without trying. "A girl can dream..." I mutter in resignation, pretending to be irritated by his presence. However, I've found myself drawn to his brute charm, which is a bad thing considering the circumstances. "Do you really despise me that much?" I shake my head, it's quite the opposite actually. "Then why?" I look up to meet his gaze, trying not to get lost in it. "Rule 35." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tempest Zebel Mercer is a street witch who just moved to North Carolina from Brooklyn, New York.
