Despite being an ace goalie, Joanna couldn't care less until Rosalie winds up as her soccer captain with high hopes of making it to nationals. I watch her when she walks in, orders the same drink - same size - and sits at the exact same table every single day. I don't think she notices me, seeing as how I'm behind the counter and I'm not the one at the register. But on December 19th, she looked up from her laptop and cup, into my eyes, and smiled. Before the start of senior year, Parker Harding was a closeted lesbian. After the homecoming dance, she was out and she was an outcast. She just had three little problems. Finding a girlfriend to get over her ex and keeping her economics grade up were two of them. The third being her crush on a very straight girl at her high school, the same one that sat in the coffee shop every single day. Parker thought Rebecca was everything she wanted, but people aren't always the way they seem.

'Home for the Holidays' takes an unexpected flip when Alicia has to spend the christmas break of her freshman year on college campus due to travel complications. Celebrating christmas by herself shouldn't be much of a big deal, but when it's on another freaking continent-- thousands of miles away from her family-- it's obvious Alicia will catch the 'Scrooge and Grinch' syndrome this season. Maybe if the long-haired girl with the extra chunky boots and goofy, lopsided smile decided to invite her over instead of roaming outside without a coat like a psychopath, she'd have a merry Christmas after all. But things like that take miracles, Alicia doesn't believe in those.

Bronwyn Larson has spent her whole life not depending on her mother, a constantly recovering addict, until the moment her life was literally torn apart when an EF4 tornado ripped through their trailer park and her mom is found dead, miles away after the storm. Suddenly, her estranged father is a part of her life, a prominent state senator who's been absent since Bronwyn was born, a product of her parents' secretive affair. After living alone with her mother in a trailer for seventeen years, Bronwyn now has a stepmother and four new siblings, including an older brother and sister who seem skeptical, if not actually disproving, of Bronwyn living with them. While staying with them in their vacation lake house an hour away from what she called home, Bronwyn is hit with the bombshell that her mother's death is being treated as suspicious, with injuries inconsistent of being killed during the tornado. Estranged from everyone she knows, except her estranged new family, Bronwyn doesn't know who trust or who to believe about her mother's death. Torn between her life as the daughter of a single drug addict and the middle child of a well-respected senator, all while learning more about the mother she thought she knew, Bronwyn is forced to navigate through this new unfamiliar life alone, with this gut feeling she has. That her mother's killer isn't unfamiliar. 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐘 18th 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐏𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐒 Cover designed by Ashley Bandy
