Mortem- or Death, as he is called nowadays- knows that his namesake waits for no one. As such, neither does he. He doesn't really 'get' emotions either, so when he expresses no remorse over ending someone's life, people tend to get a little... agitated, you could say. Agitated as in physically attacking him sometimes and staying as far away from him as possible, but he's used to it- nothing surprises him anymore. However, when the last person he'd expect to understand- much less accept- him and his job befriends him, he realizes that perhaps not everything is as it seems.

So you've got a great story, characters you love, a plot which grips you. You want to share your story with the world; you're excited about it, and you want people to read it. But you feel like they land on your page and lose interest as soon as they read your summary. This seems to be a recurring problem. Here are five easy steps to follow to make your summary stronger, and to get more readers. Disclaimer: this is not official or endorsed by Wattpad in any way; I've just made it up to help other writers. My creds: I'm an editor and freelance writer. I've lost count of the number of blurbs and summaries I've written or edited. I'm happy to help out with your summaries if you PM me. For what it's worth, I think writing summaries is one of the hardest parts of being a writer. We're writers, not salesmen - it's hard to put yourself in the mindset of the reader, to write something that will hook them. I write mainly teen fiction so my advice is skewed towards that, but I think the advice works for all genres and categories. Let me know what you think in the comments!

***Featured in YA SCI-FI & FANTASY, SECRET TREASURES and WATTPAD UNDISCOVERED STORIES 2019 *** "The truth can be weathered, eroded; it's every shade of grey that lives in the mist; it's sunrise and sunset and everything in between. . ." Kass is a goat-farmer who dreams of escaping his hopeless village. Sammi is an outcast, determined to save her sister who is slowly dying from the toxin-sickness. And Rai is a privileged drone-racer who works hard, parties hard, and feels. . . nothing. One cracks the earth. One weaves the wind. One dances with the waves. They have never met - but together, they are The Elementalists: weapons created by the resistance to overthrow the dictatorship of their toxic world. Life-changing events rip the trio from their homes, from their lives, and the resistance sends them on a perilous quest: to destroy three mysterious 'capsules' that hold the dictatorship together. But in the face of so many lies, twists and betrayals, Kass, Sammi and Rai - the most dangerous weapons on Tellus - must make tough choices. About who to save. . . And who to destroy.
