She remembered her scent. It seemed to verify her aura. Her scent was cherry Coke and cigarettes. The latter one was passed onto her, especially after she had handed her her first cigarette only three months ago. Three months was all it took for her to develop that bad habit, but it wasn't the first nor the only one she developed in that period of time. Now she laid on the roof where she had smoked her first cigarette three months ago, and she glanced over at the full can of cherry Coke sitting on the concrete next to her, almost as if it were mocking her. A dull ache formed in her heart, a hollow, resounding ache that penetrated her deepest core. The sudden burning sensation in her fingers made her realize that the cigarette was burned to its very end, and maybe so was she. -♤-♤-♤-♤-♤-♤-♤-♤-♤-♤- August is attending Cornell University as a creative writing major, and while at a college party her friends dragged her to much to her dismay, she stumbles upon a gang in an alleyway and sees something she shouldn't have. With her life now in danger, she has to deal with the consequences of that night-which includes the leader of the Blue Porcelain gang, Willow, a tall and brooding woman whose green eyes would put the girl in more danger than being caught in a spiderweb of New York gangs ever could. Zaketa presents a carefully crafted mask to the world; one of sharp edges, privilege, and bravado. Only those closest to her, her most loyal guards, know the real Zaketa. And she is so much more than what her warlord father has crafted her to be. In the somewhat distant future, disease and hunger is commonplace. The celebration honoring the King's only daughter's coming of age is to be the event of the decade. It is to be a great leveler of men, a chance to and eat and drink to their heart's content. While her father sees an opportunity building for alliances, Zaketa is disgusted by the idea of being presented as a prize to carefully selected suitors. Masked and flanked by her loyal guard, Zaketa intends to use the opportunity to make an impression on her people and let her father know she'll more than just a tool at his disposal.

Shin Ryujin, and her rival, Hwang Yeji, are both celebrities. Already a few years into the industry, each is well-known, but both hoped to gain an even bigger audience for their careers and further recognition. One day, Yeji's past high school drama teacher recommended an acting role she heard of recently. Once word was leaked out about this, Ryujin decided that she could pick up on her old acting habits. Ironically, both women somehow ended up auditioning for the same movie, not to mention obtaining the main roles. Too competitive to back down, these two found themselves playing as lovers, faking a romantic relationship for the camera, and behind the scenes is quite different than what's on-screen- well it was until both started to question what's pretend and what isn't.
