As a young girl Wendy loved stories and even made up some. The one person she often found inspiration from was her older brother, John, who would always tell a story to her and her younger brother, Michael, before they went to bed. Out of all the stories that her brother had told her about, the one about the boy who never grew up on was the one that entranced her the most. She loved to see how bright her brother's face would get when he would start a story about Peter Pan and all of his adventures. Everything seemed fine in the Darling household until one night John disappeared without anything explaining why he had left, from that night on she vowed that she would in his absence tell the story of Peter Pan. By the age of 17, when girls are supposed to be worrying about marriage, she was in her own world dreaming about Peter Pan and wishing that she was a part of that story. Little did she know that Neverland was real and a lot more dangerous and sinister than she had imagined.
