After living for 20 years on a planet ruled by self-righteous technology, Captain takes it upon himself to do something about the state of his world. Humanity is long gone, a relic of the past and a tale used only as a caveat; but even without humanity, history has a way of repeating itself--over and over again... ••• My friend (@JamieRich3) and I worked on this story together; I couldn't have done it without her :) It is based off the @SevenScribe's March prompt: In a futuristic setting, technology is really advanced, but it slowly starts to turn against humanity. This is my version of the soulmate prompt, it's not quite finished, and I still have editing to do, but enjoy!

The beginning of a story I started a couple years ago, and I haven't finished but this is just a teaser.

By the age of ten, Lyric Vance had nearly given up hope of her soulmate's existence. All her friends had been communicating with their soulmates for years, ever since they first received a note on their skin. So why hadn't hers ever written back?
