Over 2000 years have passed since the Great Wall was built to keep those deserving (or rich) safe from a zombie hoard. Histories have been rewritten and beliefs have changed. When the wall is torn down, a war erupts, causing the horrific deaths of thousands. From the Inside, one ordinary man is sent on a quest to discover the source of the zombie infection. In the Outside, a very special boy, along with his Gargoyle, is tasked with the same by the enigmatic Toymaster. And a witch, dead, must unite them both. These strangers must face fields of death, spirits, silent warriors and the undead to unite their two worlds. Can any of them be the true hero they need to be? *** The Source follows on almost 3000 years after the events of HERO, where Thomas is the only boy in a world of superpowers who has none... ANd HERO is the spiritual successor to Cell, where a trapped man with no identity or memory, becomes the spark for a new future. *** The Multigenre Mashup Smackdown, hosted by @LayethTheSmackDown, is a writing chalenge aimed at Wattpad writers of all genres, and features a variety of prompts for flash fiction and short stories. I started out by wriitng the various stories and poems for their prompts, and each one has become a new chapter in an ongoing fantasy horror!

"They're cinnamon with apple Jam. I do promise they are to die for." The taller mans eyes narrowed, "did you give the poor fool dead on the road a cookie?" My lips parted, "a dead man? Oh my..do you think it is safe?" "..depends on who you are miss, why did you say you were in the woods again?" I smiled gently, "I didn't." He rose a brow. "I'm delivering these," I shook the basket a bit, "to my dearest grandmama." He hesitated for only a slight second, "oh. well. be careful then. These woods can be dangerous." I nodded once still holding out the basket, "so would you?" "Would we what?" I giggle a bit, "like a cookie silly." "Ah.." he scratched the back of his head, "sorry, I'm not too fond of apples." Damn it. I sighed softly, "strawberry next time then." "Right..." As I turned to go I looked up at the two tall men, "you be careful now too gentleman. There are wolves in these woods." They nodded rigidly as I spun and began to skip off, giggling to myself. He asked the wrong question. I didn't give the dead fool a cookie. I gave him two.
