Charis would always remember the moment she first laid eyes on him. The feeling of her breath leaving her lungs on a silent gasp, her heart clenching and stopping, the sparkles of shock running all the way down to her toes. He stood there in the door way, taunting her with his presence, stealing the air from her lungs and the blood from her veins. Time stood still as she stared at him and he stared back, each of them daring the other to move. The seconds at that fateful moment continued to tick by but the two of them stood frozen in time, the importance of that second in time hanging over their heads.
