"This book speaks to anyone with a neurodivergent brain, that may feel like an alien here on earth. I swear Browning made me laugh and cry and question reality...sometimes all in the same sentence." -JD Todd, author The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it. Potto is dim-witted, extremely forgetful and incredibly naïve. He wasn't always this way. Aye-Aye is devilishly shrewd and has boozed his way into a comfortable existence of incompetence and sleaze. How they ended up being two of the most wanted aliens in the galaxy is anyone's guess. Chased down by every oddball bounty hunter in the known universe, and befriended by a libidinous assassin, a fire-breathing reptilian, and a telepathic tree, their misadventures take them past Earth (the mall planet), to a floating sex circus, a planet of killer stuffed animals, an underground spaceship impound lot, and to a planet of reasonably priced bungalows. All while flying around in a ship powered by the brain waves of a psycho killer. A great prophecy proclaims that only "one of light, and one of dark" can save the universe from the dictatorship of The Node. That can't be Potto and Aye...Potto doesn't know what the word prophecy means, and neither know how to spell it. Part sci-fi epic, part absurd dark comedy, I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room is a comment on human behavior, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. But way more fun than that sounds. So, do up your space seatbelts...it's going to be a bumpy ride. Despite the lack of potholes in space. (Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed! Enjoy! Seventeen-year old pizza delivery boy Joe Smith lives a simple life - he has a bike, a job, and a crush on a girl. That's about it. He doesn't have dreams beyond working on the family farm and continuing to live in the same rural community in which he was born. Until one night when everything changed. After finishing his shift at the pizzeria, he heads home, riding his bike down a lonesome stretch of highway. Guided by the dim glow from the moonlight and a small light affixed to his helmet, he battles fatigue as he struggles to peddle the long distance home. When a strange object flies overhead fast and low, and crashes into a neighbour's cornfield, Joe is quick to investigate. Thinking it was a small plane or a downed satellite, Joe rushes to the scene of the crash. What he discovers is far beyond anything he has ever seen or even imagined before. The strange craft is definitely not from this planet. Hiding among the tall stalks of corn, Joe watches with caution as a mysterious being crawls out from the rubble. What if the SQUIP never helped Jeremy be popular? What if the SQUIP was actually like that one annoying friend that you have but keep because they're a precious cinnamon roll? What if the SQUIP tried to help Jeremy ask Michael out on a date? This story is complete, but I'm doing bonus chapters (Although, I suppose they're more like mini stories)! I do not own Be more chill and the characters. I do own this AU, though. As far as I'm concerned. IDK someone might've had a similar idea.

Samuel Brandt woke up with his thoughts written all over his body. His brother woke up with his head missing. His sister woke up to find that her skin would crack open unless she stayed in water. All of the other children in the secluded Iowa town of Oak Knoll woke up having undergone strange transformations. Now, they are all forced to live at 407 West Marshall Street, the mysterious house outside of town. With the new name of The Boy with Words for Skin, Samuel wants nothing more than to hide from his new life. He painfully and unpredictably sheds his skin, there is a Voice in the entryway closet that is often cruel, and-perhaps worst of all for a naturally shy boy-the other children look to him as a leader. As his seven-year-old brother struggles with their new life, as terrifying growls start to come from the pitch black basement, and as his feelings for a girl begin to grow, The Boy with Words for Skin realizes that he wants to change. He wants to put others first, learn from his peers, and let himself hope that things will get better. The Boy with Words for Skin is the first book in the 407 West Marshall Street series. Each book will advance the story but be told from a different character. Book 2 will be The Girl without Eyes.
