After Budapest, Agent Barton and Agent Romanoff are assigned a new mission. An organisation called A.I.M. has been experimenting on innocent people and leaving them for dead, whilst S.H.I.E.L.D picks up the pieces. When Barton and Romanoff are sent over to New Jersey to investigate one of A.I.M.'s directors, their relationship evolves.
