"Deku," He murmured, thumbing over the pale skin covered in a sprinkle of light faded freckles, his breath becoming visible and ghosting against the other's cheek from the freezing cold. Red irises caught toxic green ones, his heart clenching- making it harder to breathe. God, he can't breathe- "What are we, Deku?" The close proximity had his chapped lips brush against the plush, light pink ones in a form of a chaste kiss. The question made the other teen's head hang low, green curls shadowing over his eyes as he let out a shaky breath, his arms trembling slightly as he hugged himself in a sense of lonely comfort. "I don't.. I don't know, Kacchan," he whispered back, careful around his words- but they were loud enough to shatter the glass barrier containing the truth. "I don't know."

Deku was born deaf, but he been having surgery to his ears. He been told one of his ears is better then the other so he has to use a hearing aid so he be able to actually hear. He knows sign language, he could also write. Still speaking was hard. So he was also mute. Deku only knew few words. Kacchan doesn't know deku was deaf. (In this au I'm making it seem like they aren't childhood friends, but they seem their mother talk and drink coffee or tea together but deku was always far away from Kacchan. But they still have nickname for each other.)

Hisashi walks in on Izuku kissing his childhood friend, Bakugou Kastuki, and he does not approve at all. Izuku is kicked out of his home with no where to go. Aizawa is walking home from his part-time job at a local cat cafe when he stumbles across a boy around 3 years younger than him, crying. As a hero in training, Aizawa feels the need to check on the boy.
