Once the summer starts, he takes a position interning at a mental hospital. As Ashley gets to know the layout and the patients, he meets Andy. Andy is a patient suffering from schizophrenia, who rarely speaks and never leaves his room. Ashley takes it upon himself to befriend him, and just when he thinks he's gotten Andy to trust him, he learns that Andy's scars and trauma run much deeper than he lets on.

Moving states for his dads job, Andy expects nothing but a new school, new friends, and new neighbors.
