Merlin finds a companion and faces many difficulties while he basically exiled himself. During his exile, he has to make a difficult decision. Will he give in to temptation and use his magic for evil, just like everyone thinks warlocks do or will he stay the same old Merlin that everyone loves? Arthur on the other hand is struggling on whether or not magic is actually bad and how he reacted to Merlin's magic. Not a ship fic, but if you want to view it that way go ahead.
