In a world where Titans roam every corner, not all dangers wait outside the Walls. Galene Magnolia, a criminal born in the Underground City, is running from a past marked by blood and death. Having the opportunity to finally see what lies away from that hole in the ground, she bows temporary loyalty to a gang of robbers, whose leader will not only push her buttons but also threaten to break through her walls of self-preservation. As the end of the world draws near, Galene will have to make the most important choice of all: to trust her comrades and fight for a future without Titans, or to prioritize her own survival. Because they don't know it yet, but she's more than meets the eyes. For in her past resides the key to unlocking secrets which could either destroy the threat once and for all, or usher in humanity's extinction. ♧ Starts before the anime/manga, follows an original plot-line. *this book is unedited, as well as a work of fiction* To the public, the Survey Corps are the most elite branch of the military, but that's not true. The Phoenix Squadron is a secret operations team with just as much, if not more, skill as the Survey Corps. The lone unit is merely legend to some people, but others believe in its existence. Lux Elton is second in command of this unit right below Commander Perry. Over the past nine years she's racked up a total of 27 kills alone, and is considered by her squad to be the best fighter to have ever walked outside of the walls. After a Survey Corps mission goes terribly wrong, Chief Military Officer Darius Zackly orders the Phoenix Squadron to work with the Survey Corps until they've recovered. The normally calm and collected captain must learn how to control her anger towards a particularly irritating Corporal if she's ever going to survive. These feelings of annoyance won't last forever though, and soon turn into something even harder to control. Lux will have to make it through the hellfire of war, but can she do it alone?
