This book plays two years after 'The End'. Tord lives in an alleyway since the red army threw him out when his robot crashed, because they thought that he grew too weak to be an army leader. Because of his lack of money, he couldn't buy a house for him so he had no other choice than be homeless. He lives in this alleyway for almost two years now and he gets worse, week by week, day by day. His days are always the same: Wake up, getting a coughing fit, trying to find any food or anyone who could help him, sleep, repeat. Of course, he can't go on like this for the rest of his miserable life, but what could he possibly do in his condition? Edd, Matt and Tom were doing pretty good compared to Tord. They rebuilt their house after living in an expensive apartment complex for two months and they were together everyday. One cold Winter day, the trio went to a little trip to the shopping center. But how will they react when they'll see the small, red hoodied norski in the old alleyway? Read to find out! Tord has been taken from his abusive mother. Hes been put into an orphanage and doesn't know that much english, which makes it hard for him. He doesn't talk much to anyone except a boy named Tom, who also lives at the orphanage since his parents were both killed. Tord talks so little, that even when they grow up to be in high school, he still can't talk well and has an accent, even though he has lived in Britain for 12 years. He's also been given the name "Mute" since nobody ever heard him talk. At one point, he is forced to talk, and things only get worse.

tord has been diagnosed with depression and goes to stupid therapy every single day. he barely sees colors anymore, everything seems like it's in black and white. the only get away from his illness is music, creating his own personal oasis for him to get away. tom of course makes nothing better, using ever chance he gets to antagonize tord. with arguing in the way, the two don't realize how much they're alike. a demon and a monster, with much of the same personalities and heart. He texts Edd saying he was sorry and wanted to come back, Edd being the nicest, sweetest,(and dumbest for letting him back, like WHAT?!?!? He blew up you're house!) person that he is, He allows Tord back but there is a problem, they live in apartments now. After the incedent tord felt like he what an asshole for what he did. Tord is also in an abusive relationship with someone that he can't get out of. He fell for tom a long time ago but was alwas mad because of the way his "boyfriend" treats him. Will tom ever know? You will have to see.

He gets accepted but this as a weirder bar, where the dancers are in total darkness with glow-in-the-dark contacts, undergarments and bowties. He soon gives a private show for a new person, but is He really all that new to Tom?
