A ragged and dilapidated diary from the remote island called Tulya in the middle of the Gremendel Sea containing the story of how the people of the island met its demise. Only the previous two months contain the perishing of the people of Tulya. Due to the damages that the diary sustained from the violent waves of the sea, other pages are torn away and some paragraphs are difficult to read thus some dates are missing. Here is the last revision of the English translation of the diary whose owner is yet to be identified. *** This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are products of the author's imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. ***

Humanity has failed. The Earth is littered with trash; masses of plastic and cardboard pile the ground, waste floats in the oceans, and the air is thick with toxic chemicals. Humans have now retreated into submarines, floating with the current, collecting valuables in trash patches whenever they can. A camera catches one of these scavenger's interest, offering new light on what the world once was and what the world could be. #PlanetOrPlastic

This is my official entry to the National Geographic #PlasticOrPlanet campaign. I speak not only to my countrymen but to every one of you- without minding race, religion, gender. I speak to you as a human who lives and breathes in the planet you are in. Animals had been suffering and our Ocean is dying. Let this be a call for change. Let's set aside our differences, and our personal desires. The world needs us and it is but our duty to contribute to the welfare of our planet. Abandon single use plastics, be responsible of your own wastes. It is never to late to save our home. #PlanetOrPlastics
