'Black Death' was a terrible plague that spread through Europe in the late Middle Ages. It killed 40-60 million people just in Europe. One of every two people got the disease. Though the economy was boosted, you still had to live, depressed, missing your friends and family; people that died from the plague. Some people's bodies could fight the bacteria in the disease, others just never got it. Catherine was from a family of serfs and seemed immune to the disease.
