I stood in the middle of the clearing and took in my surroundings. The thick forest air filled my lungs, nearly suffocating me as I looked up to see a sky of which I knew to be black at this hour, but I could not see due to the heavy overlying branches. I wanted to scream, plead to the heavens for help, and beg for the mercy of nature; but I knew my desperation to be no help at all. I sunk down into the mossy forest floor and drifted away to a state unaware of my actual physical location. That's when she walked through. I thought she was an angel. Her long and thick brunette locks paired with her tall and slim physique led me to believe she was a fabrication of my imagination. Her simple brown leather jacket over her sheer maroon shirt and dark wash jean added to my original thought that she was a part of the beautiful but merciless Mother Nature herself. Then she touched me. She picked me up over her shoulder as if my 180 pound build was no more than a piece of paper. As we traveled at the speed of light with no more than her long legs carrying us, I was astonished, but it was not enough to break my daze. The hours of wondering had worn me to nothing and the pain in my forearm numbed not only my body, but my brain as well. Finally, I closed my eyes and let it be.
