**DRAFT MOSTLY** FOR FANS OF BRIDGERTON Rose Axel is deformed from the burns she endured from her father. Her face is forever hidden under a veil. Her waist is much too wide, hips too ample. And she is right to think so. Matthew Whitfield is not happy upon receiving Rose as a bride. He cannot even look upon her, as she refuses to take off her veil, and has no features he considers attractive. The handsome charming Mr. Whitfield cannot be bothered by the likes of his wife. She is the fulfillment of a contract and nothing more. So he takes a mistress, and falls in love. Victoria Sill is everything Rose is not. Beautiful, gliding, and glowing. She's interested in one thing only, and that is to hold the title of Matthew's wife, Mrs. Whitfield. She doesn't care who she has to crush to get her way, be it Rose herself. Victoria always get what she wants. Be it one way or other. Soon Rose falls upon a secret that turns the tables. In addition, Victoria finds a way to become closer to the Whitfield name. A child. Al-Andalus 1183. Lluna Valentia bint Al Mualim De Bosch is a Spanish/Moorish noble, fruit of an interfaith union that hoped to unite two conflicting faiths of the Iberian Peninsula. However, hope is a dream and the reality is that the family's influence, wealth, and titles are in danger with the constant friction between the Almohad Caliphate and the Christians wishing to retake their Iberian land. At nineteen, Valentia is the only remaining daughter to be wed and their only hope to salvage their social standing. At the other side of the Mediterranean, the terminally young King of Jerusalem fears for the future of his kingdom and his struggle to provide a successor that will lead in example. In a last act of hope, or desperation, word is sent out that the King looks for a betrothed. Many countries receive the news, but few people are eager to answer. Yet in Al Andalus, it means a seizable opportunity for a certain family. It is no doubt a convenient solution for both sides. But the convenience is flawed, complicated. Because of the King's illness, it remains to be seen whether there is a point to it all. And, after all, nobody asked what Lady Valentia thought about the whole situation. Can this unwilling bride give her life and love away to a leper? And what is that which makes her the only one who could? Something far more sinister than a disease lurks ahead. Factions and alliances will either cooperate or sow discord. With such chaos, even the most unlikely of alliances may not be out of reach for this Kingdom. //the mature tag does NOT indicate smǔt, it indicates violence, blood, and heavy topics (and perhaps mildly spicy scenes (but no smǔt)) More disclaimers and warnings inside King Baldwin IV x OC || This is a long-fic and slow-burn so that's why the pace is so "slow" ALSO AVAILABLE ON AO3‼️

{WATTY'S 2020 WINNER & EDITOR'S PICK.} Hopeless romantic and aspiring writer Mare Atwood has fallen madly in love with her childhood correspondent. There's only one catch-she doesn't know who he is. When the beaus of Star's Crossing return from boarding school to begin the courting season, Mare is determined to uncover the identity of her writer, flout her family's intentions of orchestrating an advantageous marriage, and procure the life of writing and romance she's always sought. But as in the tales she so adores, it won't be easy. Galas, masquerades, picnics, and hunts-alongside an old friend, a former teacher, and an unlikely ally, Mare delves into an investigation that leaves her torn between three clever, deceptive, and wealthy young bachelors. If Mare can confirm which is her writer and claim his hand before the courting season ends, she'll have her wish: the love of her life, a valuable marriage, and a future of writing romance. But with the eyes of Star's Crossing upon her, a business plot forcing invisible hands, and the unwillingness of her writer to come forward-Mare's future may not end in triumph, but tragedy. Set against the gilded Victorian backdrop of coastal Connecticut and lush with pre-war luxury, fans of Jane Austen, Margaret Mitchell, and Louisa May Alcott are sure to enjoy this lighthearted, lyrical novel of young love, independence, and identity. #1 Literary #1 YA Romance #1 Victorian #1 Lyrical #8 General Fiction

She grapples with obedience and defiance. With faith and secrets. She is the daughter of a crusader who will go down in history... infamously. But what of her? What of her escape from him and the journey that follows? A journey that will take her to her father's foe. The most powerful warrior and conqueror the lands have seen in many years. The Sultan who grants victory. Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub. ~ Assalaamu Alaykum This is a story that will try to adhere to being as halal as possible for the sake of authenticity and accuracy with the pertinent characters and their actions according to the context of the era and the religion. But while I am religious and all three main Abrahamic religions are part of my faith (in a sense I am ecumenical with all 3) I am therefore non-denominational so I don't practice Islam or the others in complete adherence to all tenets and rituals. So as a writer with passion for certain eras and historical figures, I take liberty in writing stories about them, with no intention to offend these people or anyone else, and I can't promise every little detail will be accurate or always halal (maybe sometimes there is haram intentionally because of certain characters personalities). Keep this in mind before reading. Graphic content warning: strong language, and blood and violence only
