A Phantom of the Opera Phanfic What if Christine had changed her answer? What if she changed her mind? In this (phanfic) continuation of the beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber musical and film Phantom of the Opera (and aspects from the novels by Gaston Leroux and Susan Kay), we follow Christine and Erik's journey as she discovers her true wishes. Will they be able to be together or will fate and Raoul stand in the way? All credit to any of the phanart in this (including the cover) goes to the original artists. Y'all are amazing! WARNING: upsetting scenes/topics in here. I didn't mark it as mature because it's not quite that level, but it can get pretty deep. This book talks about suicide, violence, high-risk pregnancies, miscarriages (sorry for the potential spoiler), death, religious topics, etc. Remember that this is just for fun. If there's anything you disagree with, only comment on it in a healthy way. If you have further concerns, PM me and I'd be happy to discuss it with you. If any of these topics offend you in such a way that it prohibits you from wanting to read this book, nobody is forcing you to! I hope those of you that do read this enjoy it <3

The life of an ordinary girl is turned upside down when she is transported into her favorite musical, "The Phantom of the Opera," in the place of the elegant heroine. Negotiating life in 19th-century Paris is challenging enough without a diva scheming for leads, a sarcastic Persian's input, and two very different men battling for her affections! Should she stay faithful to the plot of the story or rewrite history? Should she choose a safe path with a reliable husband or risk her future following her mysterious Phantom? Told from the points of view of Erik - the Phantom - and the newly-made Christine, this story follows them both as they work through their respective demons to find love in the person that is a little different from all their imaginings. "A really well-written Erik/OC, with a lovely, smart, likable heroine. If you ever fantasized about taking Christine's place in POTO, read this." - @olivesky "I am literally crying right now. That was so good!" - @musicalsnmarkiplier "One of the best fan fictions I have ever read" - @elephant_hugger "I just discovered this today and finished it in one go. This is an extraordinary work, Erik deserves you to portray him 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻" - @Myatnoe123 "Sacrificing a few hours of sleep was worth finishing this." - @LiberDose "I must confess you've ruined all other Phantom of the Opera fanfictions" - @LilRed315 "Thank you for the 2-in-the-morning giggles, the falling-out-of-the-bed-blushing phangirl moments, and just writing this book in general! You are the best author!" - @ThatBabyQuinnDoh *Now available to read on archiveofourown.org* Disclaimer: I do not own The Phantom of the Opera or its characters. Approaching the old opera house was much more difficult than Christine Daaé had imagined. Not because of the fallen debris, or the scorched marble staircase she had to climb to reach the top. Nor was it the bittersweet memories that began to flash through a deep and pushed away piece of her consciousness when she managed to open the door that lead inside. No, what was difficult was the task she had set for herself, the entire reason she was there: to find Erik. (Editing)
