someone new moves in across the street from ray in their small, religious suburbia. she is quickly dubbed the lady of elm street and whispers are heard everywhere but she holds her head high. ray wishes she could be their new mom. their current mom doesn't like the lady of elm street and doesnt like ray. tragedy hits. the lady is irrationally blamed.
