The Defiant's Dance - {On Hold}
typingatmidnight
Human civilisation splinters off into a day and night society known as the Sunrisers, and the Sundowns.
Tattooed from birth people are bound to their society for life. Sunrisers are strict basing their lives around rules and regulations, whether Sundowns are a more loose society valuing fun and exploration. The societies don't agree on anything except their hatred for each other, and so in order to remain in their isolation any conversing between them is considered defiance and punishable by death.
Zaria (meaning - light of the morning star) is the daughter of the leader of the Sunrisers, and at the age of 18 will inherit her mothers duty. But she faces a moral dilemma. How can she be the leader of a society where she does not feel she belongs, in a world that provides no other escape?
In her desperate pursuit for freedom she meets a Sundown boy who provides her with the key to unlocking the cage she is trapped in, and together they discover why such a rivalry has been created and this invisible wall built to divide their two societies.
But can they learn to live in a world where they can never be considered equals? Isn't it impossible to reside peacefully when freedom is considered defiance?
