After the defeat of Slappy and his monsters, peace finally return to Madison once again. One beautiful day, Zach, Hannah, Champ, Aunt Lorraine, Zach's mom and Stine went to the woods for a quick hike. Until Zach decided to go further... which leads him to find a mysterious book that was buried between the roots from a tree at the bottom of the lake. As all of them opened the book, they were extremely surprise to encounter a creature that just pop out from the book...a stringless marionette creature with the looks and acts of a human. After that day, the marionette befriended them and teach her the basic of human nature. On that night, the marionette decided to roan for a bit and ended up in the basement, where she heard strange noises. Curiosity stuck her and decides to investigate this.
