This angered his father, as he wanted a son who was just like him, and thus, treated Kaoru's sister, Yuzuki Shirogane, as the golden child. After years of fights between the two, and the fact Kaoru's mom left the family when he was very young, it's needless to say, Kaoru was pretty screwed up.
