{SPIN-OFF TO "THE GIRL IN THE HOODIE" | SECOND BOOK IN THE SERIES} {2018-2023} *~* "Thank you for quitting that disgusting couple moment before I had to interrupt." "Careful, I might start making out with him just to torture you some more." "I hate you." "I have no objections." "Oh, god, please don't. Let's just get back to the task on hand." We all turn back around but find the table empty. "What? Where the hell did they go?" We hear the clearing of a throat right next to us, at the end of the booth, opposite the window. "Uhh-no hablo inglés. Me llamo Pablo." "You bitch-" "Traitor-"

He takes another step forward and wraps his arms around me in a hug. Warmth fills me and soothes the parts of our body that touch. "Please," he mumbled in my hair, "you can't run away now. Book 2 of The Alpha Series - Sequel to my first book, The Hybrid. Kaden's Luna cannot be read as a stand alone book! Kaden Reid is known as a rogue who was banished from his pack. He longs for his mate but thinks she's better off without him. Imagine his surprise when he finds her one day. One thing is for sure, he is never going to let her go. But Kaden's troubled past is quickly catching up to him. A war is imminent. Will he lose everyone he holds dear or will he come out victorious? Only time will tell. *** "You...You are so territorial." I growl angrily, crossing my arms as I stare at him. "Blame the wolf not the human, darling." He states before holding out a chicken wing. "Want some?" "No." I grumble, still peeved as I start making my way to the front door. "I'm going home." "So, you came all the way here just to yell at me?" He questions, a look of bewilderment and amusement on his face. "Yes. Now, goodbye." I state with finality, not wanting to give away that I had missed him too much throughout the day. I had just stepped one foot out of the door when an arm wraps around my waist and pulls me back, the loud sound of the door slamming shut making me jump. I turn in his hold, resting my palms on his chest before looking up at him. "Kaden, what -" I am cut off when he smashes his lips to mine. Whimpering at the sudden action, I fist the material of his shirt in my hands. His lips are soft and his movements turn gentle against my own, muscular arms wrapping around my waist to try and pull me impossibly closer. I gasp when his tongue swipes across my bottom lip, opening my mouth for him. I forgot what we were arguing over. The world had gone to hell long ago, taken over by the vampire race. In order to keep some sort of peace in our land, the Vampire Lords made a consecutive agreement. The rich and powerful humans could survive just as they had been, untouched by the vampires save for the occasional blood collections, or so they thought In reality, we were all under their control. Castles spread out throughout our land, one landing in each city. Each castle varied in the number of vampires residing there, but all of them carried a Lord. The Lords were the ones in charge in every city, whether we liked it or not. The vampires often roam through the city, making sure that everyone was in order and no one stepped out of line. If you stepped out of line, you died, end of story. Even if the rich were still under their control, their lives were still better than the poor. The poorest lives held a much worse fate. The men were to be put to work as slaves, whether that meant serving a specific vampire, or just building their castles, they were slaves. The women were to be pets. Pets were the lowest rank you could have. They were forced into cages that were too small to stand in with collars around their necks. They spent their lives in pet shops, just waiting for the dreadful day that they'll be bought. They were treated like animals, trained into what their master wanted, and punished if they misbehaved. Those who were lucky enough to live through that, we're to be slaughtered for their blood at age twenty-five in an act to make sure that our population would stay steady. I was born into this world. Born into this world full of blood-sucking monsters. Except, I was one of the lucky ones. Was. It all ended for me when I was 12, when I was taken away from the last bit of hope and family that I had left. Ever since then, I've lived in a cage, just rotting away, waiting, dreading for the day that some monster would make me his. This is my life. I am a pet. ~~~ Cover by: @mshacake

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't. I had the same thick, dark, curly hair. The same hazel eyes. The same olive skin with a light dusting of freckles (ugh) scattered across the bridge of my nose. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. No, these were an aggressive, dazzling blond that went from the roots of my hair all the way to the tips. It looked like I had spent a full day getting my hair done in some upscale salon. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. My whole body was rippling with strength. Like liquid steel.

Renee Griffin is gorgeous, loveable, undeniably popular, and has an uncanny ability of getting everything she wants. She is a cunning seductress, a loving daughter, a prima donna, and a cold-blooded murderer. This is not a story for the faint hearted. This is the story of a 21st Century psychopath. "'You've killed,' he breathed. His eyes had grown big, so big that they barely fit his face anymore. He didn't resemble Nathan at all. He was pathetic, and cowardly, and weak. 'I have.' Silence and darkness threatened to crush us both, the sound of his uneven breathing piercing through my eardrums. I didn't bother hiding anything in my demeanour - it was a relief to let the darkness out, to let it slip out of every pore and every cell. He was going to die. His next words were quiet, so quiet, that it could have been drowned out with the faint sound of cheers coming from the stadium. 'You're a monster.'"
