Het leven van de zeventienjarige Rose wordt overhoop gegooid als zij een Gekozene blijkt te zijn. Ze heeft al veel meegemaakt, want ze woont in een tehuis en over haar ouders is niks bekend. Als je 16 bent geworden, en je bent niet geadopteerd, zijn de regels dat je dan naar een kostschool moet. Voor Carly is het dus zover, zij moet ook naar een kostschool. Ze kan haar oude leven achter laten en een nieuw leven beginnen! Eenmaal in de school is ze op haar plek, ze heeft leuke vrienden, een mooie kamer en kan hebt goed vinden met de andere leerlingen. Maar net zoals iedere school, heeft ook deze school een badboy achtig type, Justin. Ze kunnen elkaar niet uitstaan! Ze halen regelmatig streken bij elkaar uit en maken elkaar het leven zuur. Ze haten elkaar, maar haat en liefde liggen niet ver van elkaar af, toch? ----------------------------------------------------------- Beetje cliché is oke! Er zijn nu natuurlijk heel van van dit soort boeken, maar ik heb geprobeerd er een eigen twist aan te geven. Veel leesplezier! X

De bloedweg terug is een verhaal over een groepje leerlingen van de middelbare school. Zij zijn met school op kamp en op het programma staat een dropping gepland. Jill ziet het zelf niet zo heel erg zitten en al helemaal niet als ze hoort bij wie ze in het groepje zit. Op de avond van de dropping krijgen ze een kompas.
