It was dusk Not quite dark yet, but close Misty fog swirled around As I walked through the park that day The sun was out, but not quite Kinda a dim, warm kind of light And there she walked, just a strut ahead A lovely blue scarf around her delicate head I walked beside her, she gave a small smile We walked around the park awhile She was beautiful, inside and out And them there was me, Short and stout But she seemed to not mind And so we walked on It seemed we walked from dusk until dawn Then time didn't stop, it went on and on 'Till wedding bells rang in the bright morning dawn And there she stood again, pretty as ever Ready to marry little old me What could be better? The clock kept on ticking Time flew by fast It seemed not even a day had passed When I held a tiny bundle in my arms Cooing softly, bursting with charm Then another, a little girl this time Daddy's little princess would be her favorite line She looked like her mother, thin, trim and fair
