Being the new kid is hard. Being the new gay kid is even harder, especially in a town full of secrets. After being bullied in Miami once Trevor was outed to his high school, his mom, Miami Police Captain Wendy Davenport, moves them to East Shore, a little beach town a few hundred miles up the coast of Florida. New town, new school, new friends. A fresh start. But, East Shore is still grappling with the only crime to plague the small beach town in recent memory, the murder of a teenage girl, a case that appears will never be solved. Trevor quickly makes friend with the fast-talking, quick-witted Kara, and develops a crush on Chase, apparently the only other gay guy around for miles. His mom Wendy, once a woman in charge, now finds herself assigned to the most menial tasks at a police department smaller in number than the people she used to supervise. As Wendy get more familiar with East Shore and its police department, she soon suspects that there is more to the story of the murdered teenager than has been told to the public. As if Trevor already struggled to stay below the radar at East Shore High, he is assigned to the desk where Emma Meyer sat, the girl who was murdered just months earlier. If you catch any errors, feel free to point them out. I overlook quite a few sometimes. Grammarly is only so good.
