I finally got to sit in my office after dealing with the staff and this unusual patient. I sat down in my chair behind the large oak desk that sat directly in the center of the office. My computer screen blinked to life as an email popped up on the screen. It was from an anonymous sender. I started reading it aloud, "Go home immediately. Gather only the necessary things you would need to survive away from home." My initial reaction was honestly, "What the hell?!" I honestly could not believe what I was reading until one of the nurses ran into my office, clearly in a state of panic. "Sir," She started, "you need to see this."
I got out of my chair, ran down the hallway, and rushed into the waiting room where all of the other doctors and nurses were congregated in front of one of the plasma TVs. They immediately made a path for me to walk down, some looking away from my glance as I passed. I couldn't yet see the TV but heard what it was saying. "Breaking News: Emergency officials were called to the scene of local doctor Heston Jackson's residence after what is believed to be a bomb went off inside the residence-" Then I got a clear look at---what was left of---my house.
