Even though there's a lot of joking around, they put in the work and become a really talented line. And then one day, a new guy comes in. He's a freshman, and he joins the drumline. He's actually really good, and Emily notices something different about him. A good different. They become good friends, and eventually it all changes. Will they be drumline family? Or will they be more?

Alexis Grace Porter grew up as a happy, kind, beautiful girl. People said she'd grow up and marry rich, never to earn her place in the world. She believed them. Her older brother had been her best friend and played more of a parent role then either of her parents. After their parents divorce however, everything changed. Lex and Marcus quickly grew to loathe one another, which is to be expected. But what was not expected was their hatred to fade away as they got to know each other's secrets and developed... feelings? They learn that there is a fine line between love and hate. How do they decide who gets top dog? Will their relationship make it? Will the drumline make it? Or will it crumble?
