The characters are highly complex and they exist in a world that values strength over compassion, only the strong survive. The life inside the pack mimics that of a real wolf pack with a strict hierarchy that is established through fighting and power. It is also comparable to a medieval court, the king holds his divine right to rule and the queen exists solely to please and support the king. Throw in scheming courtiers with the ability to change into wolves with sharp claws and fangs and you have the pack construct. As the characters are basically wolves housed in a human skin and the story is laced with animalistic references and traits displayed by all. We first meet the main characters Meela and Grey it is on a bloody battlefield where they recognize each other as their soul mate, and Grey takes Meela as tribute for his pack's help in her brother's fight. From this point on Meela belongs to Grey, and in this world, a highly spirited female with a propensity for impulsive actions matched to a dog stubborn, self-assured, dominant male is going to cause problems. We follow Meela in her journey to become the pack's Luna, a pack who are even more wolf than the one she comes from, and with a mate who has set the highest standards for her to reach as his Luna(female Alpha) and will accept nothing less than perfection. In the midst of all this and the struggle they face to form a personal and public relationship, there is one incident that will change them both and the fate of the pack completely. From that point on both Meela and Grey are inevitably changed and for them to be together, either one or both needs to change, but when you live in a world where you are taught that weakness is easily exploited and to admit defeat can potentially lead to your destruction. Thank you @chortle for the great summary

[book one] The game was simple: A contest comprised of three unique challenges, designed to test a human's strength physically and mentally, their personality compatibility, and their chance of survival. The prize was excruciatingly tempting: The chance to be reborn, into a strong immortal creature of the Night, and to stand beside one of the sexiest men alive for the rest of your endless life --as his Mate. But was the cost too much? ~ If you happen to be reading this story from any other platform other than Wattpad (or Tapas), please note that you are very likely to be at risk of a malware attack. She had a pretty good life, to tell the truth. Working as a trauma nurse in the emergency room of her town had been engaging and rewarding, and nightly dinners with her family had been the highlight of her day after a long shift of beating back death and saving lives. The keyword was 'had'. Ever since the Monsters took the liberty of overthrowing the human government and demoting mankind to the bottom of the food chain, things have gone to shit for her species. Especially for her and her younger sister. Now no longer able to do what she loves as a full time gig, Riona scrapes by day to day working in a food packaging factory to keep her and her sister afloat in this new world.. all the while patching up an injured human here and there, since physicians for humans were no longer a luxury. Things had been fine for the past few years in this new world, both she and her sister had finally adapted to their oppressed lifestyle.. at least until a certain injured Beta is quite literally deposited on her couch.

#1 in Paranormal & #1 UNIQUE ranked story on Wattpad! When a monster called the Smiling Dark comes clawing at Tay Wilson's door, she quickly learns a demonic pet of the faerie kingdom is the least of her problems. The riders of the Wild Hunt are searching for brides, and more than one of them has his eyes set on her. *** Hunger Games meets ACOTAR *** *** PREORDER LADY OF THE WILD HUNT TODAY *** Tay Wilson is about to leave her Alaskan homesteading family for an internship working with a famous special effects designer in New York City when an accident leaves her and her friend alone to rescue a lost calf. Finding that calf as a fast-moving snowstorm closes in on the homestead is the last thing she wants to do, especially after having spent the last month stalked by an enormous, terrifying darkness sporting a volcanic smile and a serpentine tongue. Unfortunately for Tay, the entire legion of the Wild Hunt has come to whisk her soul away to their dark faerie kingdom, where she and several other women will be released into the Malumbrian Oaks, a forbidding forest of blood magic and secrets, to participate in the centuries-long sport of demonic and faerie lords hunting for brides. Captured, awaiting the Hunt, Tay discovers that her father is not the good-for-nothing oil rig worker of her mother's claims; he was once a Lord of the Wild Hunt, making her a halfbreed and eligible to compete in the games as the second only Lady of the Wild Hunt. To win, Tay must make it back to the castle with at least one bride of her own, while evading capture from every other Lord in the hunt and surviving the perils of the towering forest. All of this is difficult enough, but to get the help she needs to even survive until the start of the Hunt, she's forced to ally with and begins falling for Chiro, reigning Prince of Demons and Faeries. When Chiro chooses to join the hunt, the game of capture and evasion gets a lot more interesting.

A world ravaged by war; humanity on the brink. A stranger comes from another time. Is he the saviour mankind has been waiting for... or something far darker? When an accident with an experimental Time Machine plunges David Tweed into another dimension, at first he thinks he got lucky. He's alive, and the world in which he finds himself seems remarkably familiar. Soon, however, he begins to realise how strange this world really is, how tangible is the evil that crawls across the shattered landscape. But strangest of all, everyone he meets seems to have been expecting him. How do they know who he is, and just what have they been waiting for him to do? Alan Porter weaves a deceptively simple story of one man's courage in the face of overwhelming odds. Yet Firestorm is also a fiendishly complex puzzle, where time twists in on itself and nothing is ever quite what it seems. *Firestorm: Descent is also available in paperback or Kindle formats from Amazon. The Games; once a year, unmated wolves that had hit maturity from various packs would gather in hopes of finding the other half that would complete them and then live happily ever after... at least, that's how it was for the males. For the she-wolves participating, it literally meant life or death; if none of the males present were a compatible mate, you could very well be executed in the arena for being 'defective'. The Game of Mates was an archaic and barbaric way for wolves to find their other halves, at least that's how Alexandria and Danielle Cruise saw it after the death of their elder sister whom had been torn to pieces at the end of The Game. With a twist of fate and a dash of sass-there was no doubt that the twins would take this year's Game by storm-with Alexandria leading the helm and her sister at her side.

When sixteen-year-old Amanda Verner's family decides to move from their small mountain cabin to the vast prairie, she hopes it is her chance for a fresh start. She can leave behind the memory of the past winter; of her sickly ma giving birth to a baby sister who cries endlessly; of the terrifying visions she saw as her sanity began to slip, the victim of cabin fever; and most of all, the memories of the boy she has been secretly meeting with as a distraction from her pain. The boy whose baby she now carries. When the Verners arrive at their new home, a large cabin abandoned by its previous owners, they discover the inside covered in blood. And as the days pass, it is obvious to Amanda that something isn't right on the prairie. She's heard stories of lands being tainted by evil, of men losing their minds and killing their families, and there is something strange about the doctor and his son who live in the woods on the edge of the prairie. But with the guilt and shame of her sins weighing on her, Amanda can't be sure if the true evil lies in the land, or deep within her soul.
