Every year in the small town of Holly Grove, twenty-two year old Alexa Esmond and her friends play a game called Mistletoe. The game takes place at the annual Christmas party in the town's square and is rather simple. If your friend caught you sneaking glances or staring at a cute guy, then they will tell you "Mistletoe!" You would then have to somehow get the guy to kiss you before the party ended, otherwise you would be forced to go on a (horrible) date chosen by the other friend. Luckily for Alexa, no guy has ever caught her eye, that is, until this year. And it just so happens to be the guy who broke her heart years ago. Twenty-five year old Charlie London has always been too busy for women because of his restaurant business in NYC. What will happen when he spots the girl he let go of all those years ago? Will old love rekindle into a new flame? Find out in The Mistletoe Game!

"Here's the deal," he began. "I know you don't feel the same way about me, and I know that it's very possible that you'll never return the feelings I have for you. That's why I've come up with a solution to satisfy us both." "I'm listening," I responded, admittedly a bit intrigued. "Today is December 14 which would be exactly twelve days before Christmas. Are you familiar with the classic Christmas song, '12 Days of Christmas'?" he questioned. I chuckled, shaking my head at his absurd question. "Uh, who isn't?" "Well then, here's my proposition for you: For exactly twelve days, you let me be your boyfriend," said Joey. "Joe, I-" "And before you say no," he said, cutting me off, "I think both of us could benefit from this deal. Know why? This would be my one chance to make you fall for me. If you don't by the time Christmas rolls around, then I'll leave you alone or we'll go back to the way things used to be - me and you, best friends and only best friends." He took a shaky breath before adding, "Besides, we're not really running the risk of 'ruining the friendship' since, and forgive me for the harsh words, but the friendship is already ruined so..." "Well... What exactly would we be doing for twelve days?" I inquired. "Well, since you asked, we'd be going on dates, doing stuff that would make you fall for me, and most importantly, we'd act like a couple. To summarize, you'll be getting the full boyfriend experience," he chuckled with a proud grin plastered across his face. "Interesting proposition, Joey," I complimented, giving him a little dorky applause. "I'm in. Your chance to prove yourself to me starts... now." Without saying another word, he wrapped his arms around my waist, drawing me close, and he brought his lips to mine. - Cover by: @guiaong - ~ 12 Days of Christmas ~ 05/31/17 - 10/08/17 Edited: 08/08/20 - 08/24/20

❝ Wait," I say, backing away. "Let me get this straight- you're Santa Clause?" I stare at the boy no more than a couple years older than me. He had to be kidding. He rolls his eyes, his handsome face illuminated by the lights on the tree. "Well when you put it that way, I suppose." The candy cane i am sucking on falls from my lips, clattering to the floor. "B-But where's the beard, the overflowing fat and the HO HO HO?" He snorts, a charming smile on his lips as he tugs on the end of my Santa hat. "Sweetheart, it's all just the Santa Clause Act.❞ ~*~ p.s. The current cover was made by Isasecret Ranking: short story #9/ Teen Fiction: #56

When a bachelor-style reality show centered around finding this year's Mrs. Claus comes to Charlie's small town, she is vehemently against the attention it brings, yet in the chaos of it all, somehow finds herself in the running as a contestant... and falling in love. ***** In the weeks before Christmas, Charlie Duncan's small town finds itself the backdrop to the hit new reality show, Finding Mrs. Claus. And to spice up the drama, a handful of locals are thrown into the casting mix, including not only Charlie, but her best friend Ellie as well. While Charlie does everything she can to get tossed off the show (to no avail), and watches skeptically as Ellie truly begins to open up her heart, she can't help but feel a certain spark for the man behind the scenes - the show's producer, Noah Cyrus.
