A fairy godmother internship is just what Noelle needs to escape her family's pumpkin business . . . until she starts to question her own happily-ever-after. Perfect for fans of The Princess Diaries or Ella Enchanted! * * * Noelle Simpkins is sick of working for her parents. Sure, her dad runs a booming pumpkin business and her mom's the greatest shoemaker in the land. But pumps and pumpkins get OLD after a while, and she's ready to see more of the world. When she hears about a fairy godmother internship in the city, she jumps on it. The goal? Make sure royal clients get happily-ever-afters . . . all while battling goblins, curing curses, and figuring out how to use a magic wand. Not to mention shutting down a rival godmother and avoiding Kit, a distractingly cute guy who sells pie and keeps turning up. But as exciting as her new gig is, Noelle is surprised when she realizes . . . she kind of misses making shoes and growing pumpkins. Has she gotten closer to her own happily-ever-after, or farther away? And when the glass shoe's on the other foot, can she stay true to her heart? This is the original, unedited version of Light as a Feather, Book #1. This book was the inspiration for the Hulu Original Series. The revised version is now available in bookstores throughout the USA & Canada from Simon Pulse. McKenna Brady thinks her junior year of high school is going to be the best ever when she's welcomed into the elite group of popular girls at Weeping Willow High School led by blonde, gorgeous Olivia Richmond. Prior to junior year, McKenna was known in her small town as the girl whose twin sister died in a tragic house fire, and she's overjoyed at the prospect of redefining her identity. She has a date to the Homecoming dance with Olivia's handsome older brother, and a good chance of being elected to student council. For the first time since McKenna's parents divorced, things are looking up. But everything changes the night of Olivia's Sweet Sixteen sleepover birthday party. Violet, the shy, mysterious new girl in town, suggests that the girls play a scary game called Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board, during which Violet makes up elaborate stories about the future ways in which beautiful Olivia, brassy Candace, and athletic Mischa will die. The game unsettles McKenna because she's already escaped death once in her life, but she doesn't want to ruin her friends' fun. It's only a game, she reminds herself.

[Watty Awards 2019 Winner - New Adult!] Damian Ryker is something of a nomad. In his 22 years of life he's moved a grand total of 14 times. But he's here to stay this time, honest. He's already got himself a cushy new job in town and he's exploring the popular local shops, like that coffee shop down the road. It seems nice enough, perhaps a little too hipster for his taste and the barista is awkward, if not the slightest bit weird. But there's something strange about the innocuous café, like-oh I don't know-earthquakes that seem to destroy it every morning before miraculously repairing themselves and leaving him with the only memory of it. And just when that sounded a tad off, things start to get...a little out of this world. ------------ This was my 2017 Nanowrimo story that I couldn't quite fall out of love with. Inspired by the fun and fascinating world of fan fiction AUs, I hope you'll have as much fun with this as I had writing it!

Watty's 2019 Poetry Winner An LGBTQ+ Poetry Collection, about the good, the bad, and the sad of coming out, dating, and existing as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I started so small With nothing to say for me at all Just a bird in a world of birds Just a being who has not much to show for themselves I worked hard though Even when everyone else cast me out Threw me out I stayed strong I battled the forces of nature As they came my way I kept going And learned to fly I flew above everyone else And saw what I had become With my wings outstretched I saw who I am; A mockingbird ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Dedicated to Keefe, who supported me when I found myself lost in the midst of my identity~

WATTY 2019 WINNER Hale, a state of the art android, can do nearly anything a human can. He cooks meals, cleans and organizes the house, repairs broken appliances, and runs errands. He can even provide for the more carnal needs of his owner. None of these tasks should present any challenge for Hale, and they don't-until he meets his next door neighbour, Rayner. Rayner seems like an unassuming gardener, but he asks Hale a lot of questions. Does Hale wish he could smell or taste food? What would he look like if his appearance hadn't been chosen for him? From the moment they meet, Hale runs into errors in otherwise simple tasks. He experiences bizarre sensations that none of his diagnostic tools can explain, and struggles to appease the people in his owner's social circle. As the errors in his programming begin to wear on his owner's patience, Hale faces the most difficult decision yet. If he can't evolve to meet her needs, he'll be returned and recycled into parts for future androids. If he does evolve, is he still just an android? Or something more? In all this, Rayner is the only man who can help him, and Rayner only has one question left for Hale. What does he want? Hale wasn't designed to want anything, but perhaps he can find the answer in the man with all the questions. Mari Turner's life is simple after college: return to the tiny family farm and look after the animals while working at a local bookstore. She’s a firm believer of magic in books and legend, but it doesn’t exist in her reality until a walking, talking fairy tale calls her a Piper’s child, and spirits her away to his ice palace. In a fit of unbridled courage – or stupidity, she’s not sure – she makes Jack Frost a challenge his pride can’t refuse: be human, with everything that comes with it. The prize is Mari’s eternity – she’ll either spend it without interacting with him again or she’ll live forever in the pixie world by his side and give up all she’s ever known. With Jack as a flesh and blood mortal, she digs deeper into his legend to get a better understanding of the man frozen in time, and discovers the darker side to the stories that shaped her childhood. From the Pied Piper who stole children instead of banishing rats and the rest of the winter pixies – including Jack’s sister, and their centuries-old feud – to her dead father’s legacy and her evolving relationship with Jack himself, Mari finds human life is much more interconnected with the pixie world than it once looked. But at the end of the winter there can only be one winner, and everything Mari knows and holds dear hinges on Jack Frost’s ability to be human – including understanding his own thawing heart.
