They worked together to conquer the continent of North America. They defeated the United States after a famine. They captured the states in 2501 and used any hostages as test subjects. Then, in 2712, they had separated the country into four parts, the eastern side of the country was New Europe, the middle was Araña, the west was Pájaro, and the old state of Hawaii is Pescado. Scientists created new breeds of human over the years, turning all of the U.S. into an experiment. There were the fish hybrids, the spider hybrids, and the bird hybrids. Sylvia and her two friends, Jack Willard and Sierra Smith are part of the experiment. They live in Pescado. Sylvia is a fish hybrid, while Jack is a bird hybrid and Sierra is a spider hybrid. They both were born in Pescado, though they would have been born in Araña and Pájaro due to the breed they are. They are captured after leaving to go to the mainland. They're taken to a lab and tested on. They need to find a way to escape before the tests kill them.

What someone would expect to happen on any given day in a magical kingdom is for the royal court to have a meeting, the servants to go about their business and maybe the soldiers would have to break up a fight between some drunken idiots.
