He shook his head, "Every time I compliment you, you refuse to even glance in my direction. Why?" I shrugged, "I guess I'm just not very good with compliments. They distract me." "They 'distract you'?" he raised an eyebrow. I nodded. "Yeah. It just repeats itself over and over in my head until I finally convince myself that you're wrong or you're lying," I explained, staring at my worn out shoes as I dug them into the ground, wanting nothing more than to just dig a hole and hide in it. "Look me in the eyes," he whispered and gently lifted my chin with his warm hand. My eyes met his. "And try to tell me I'm lying when I say that you're the most beautiful girl that I've ever met."
