Based on the classic novel North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell, this modern story of John and Margaret takes them on a magical adventure filled with intrique, suspense, and romance. John Thornton spends all his waking hours working in the family business. In his leisure time, he hunts for antique books. When one literally falls on him, he is shocked to find the ancient looking text is written about him. Margaret Hale has no time for love. Having started a bakery with her best friend Tara, she needs to concentrate fully on that venture for now. But at her cousin's wedding reception, a stranger approaches and explains he is the man she will marry in three months time.

Aleanna always thought she was just a seamstress living in a small town south of Erebor. But when Thorin Oakenshield sweeps through town searching for work after Erebor's fall, she knows it's not the first time she's seen him. Nor would it be her last. ***This story was inspired by the scenes of young Thorin working as a smith in the towns of men. It takes place shortly after the dwarves' exile from Erebor, as they journey south through the Wilderlands east of Mirkwood then westward to Dunland. *****YIKES! IT IS NOW 12/20202 AND ALTHOUGH IT'S BEEN FOREVER SINCE I WROTE THIS HUMBLE FANFIC, THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR DISCOVERING IT AND READING IT! LOVE ALL YOUR COMMENTS!*****

“The Vicar of Dibley Revisited: A Season of New Beginnings: Episodes Treatment Summaries An Original Fan Fiction Adaptation of the characters from the BBC tv show “The Vicar of Dibley” by Gratiana Lovelace (all rights reserved; no copyright infringement intended) [(1abcd) Story Cover Logo] Author's Note When "The Vicar of Dibley" ended its twelve year series run in 2006 with the marriage of Vicar Geraldine to Accountant Harry, the writers claimed in the dvd extras that they couldn't figure out how to make a married vicar work within their storyline's framework. Precisely, blokes! This conflict between Geraldine’s duty to her flock and her love for Harry would be the perfect comedic/dramatic plot convention. Marriage is about negotiation, compromise--and the husband realizing that his wife is always always right. Ha! But more importantly, the VofD writers missed an opportunity to explore how that negotiation takes place--to what would have been wildly humorous effect. And I, for one, miss the charming “The Vicar of Dibley” show greatly. So, I have written a detailed story narrative for a new season of "The Vicar of Dibley" with 8 episodes exploring the Vicar and Harry's life well into marriage. These 8 episodes will comprise 8 chapters (or sections). So, I will keep it short and hopefully a fun and enjoyable read. I have yet to flesh out dialogue scenes, so that will help with the brevity that I am going for here. And, this ‘season’ of Dibley episodes that I have envisioned is on the more poignant end of the scale in terms of the action that takes place. But then, the Dibley show always had moments of great heart in it, and that heart is what I draw upon here. And there will also be some of the characteristic humor we remember fondly as well. By the way, I rated my story PG-13 because of some of its sassy humor and some of its serious subjects. I hope that you enjoy my story. Cheers! Gratiana Lovelace

What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago. But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
