Summer ends before Ella can even blink and she is forced to face NYU on her own as Timothée gets on a plane heading to sunny California. Timothée reminds Ella of happier times, when they were children and when her mother was still alive. She is reminded of how simpler things used to be, and he helps her realize what truly matters. Ella falls hard for him, but she also falls into her fathers habits and bad ways. She can't change who she is, but she can shape who she will become.
