After the events of episode 9 (The Last Act), Jax finds himself in Hell after everything he's done to each cast member of the circus; he's LITERALLY in Hell, not figuratively. Deciding what to do now in the afterlife, Jax sees a flyer for a hotel about redeeming sinners so they can go to Heaven. Wanting to see if this could bring him entertainment AND redemption, he chooses to go over there. However, as Jax's time at the hotel fails to make him laugh, he goes outside and spots a billboard about killing people in the living world (Earth).
