We don't, because we cannot possibly taste with someone else's tongue. How do I know that the past three years of my life haven't been a dream? How do I know that I'm not about to wake up, a 13 year old kid who fell asleep in U.S. History? I don't, because my dreams always feel so real up until the moment I open my eyes.
